Bowling: M’sians pull off clean sweep at S’pore International Open


The 46th Singapore International Open Bowling tournament drew to a close on Saturday, with a strong showing by the Malaysians.

Both the Men’s and Women’s Open categories saw all-Malaysian finals.

The tournament offers one of the biggest prizes in Asia totalling S$150,000.

In the men’s open category, Malaysia’s Kang Bo Long was beaten by fellow countryman Adrian Ang. Ang clinched the title, winning both games with a 191-to-166 and 197-to-171 score.

In the women’s finals earlier, Sin Li Jane continued her strong performance into the finals.

She came out tops in the first game over another Malaysian Shalin Zulkifli, with a close 192 to her rivals’ 190. Sin Li continued her good form into the second game, winning by a score of 193 over Shalin’s poor 146 pinfalls.
